Description:
Frankincense or Luban in Arabic (which means ” incense”) is a kind of gum Arabic, 100% pure quality.
Frankincense (Luban) comes from Boswellia, a tree from the burseraceae family, also called an incense tree. It is obtained after incision of the bark, whether at the level of the branches or the trunk.Â
Our resin comes from the boswellia sacra (olibanum) tree, known to provide the most precious incense in the world.
The grain size is around 0.8-3cm, which is ideal for burning on charcoal or electric burner. Shipping is done in reseal able zip bags. Incense is also ideal for making mixtures.
In ancient times, frankincense was used by upper-class Egyptians to ward off foul odors, which were associated with evil. It is still burned as incense today. Frankincense is an oleo-gum-resin that seeps from the tree when the bark is injured or cut. The liquid solidifies on contact with air into globular chunks or “tears.” When ground, frankincense powder quickly hardens again upon air exposure. The resinous, dry and balsamic aroma is a component of many perfumes.
